This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for (https://www.ncda.gov.ph). This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 of the National Privacy Commission.

Privacy Notice For Processing Inquiries And Requests

Individuals will be provided a Personal Information Collection Statement in an appropriate format and manner whenever personal data is collected (i.e. in the manual form or web page that collects personal data, or in a notice posted at the reception area of NPC events where participants’ personal data is collected through attendance sheets).

Personal Data Collected

NCDA Online Courses collect Personal Data that you provide to us when you register for an account, update or change information for your account, complete a survey, sign-up for email updates, participate in our public forums, send us email messages, and/or participate in Content Offerings or other Services on our Site. We may use the Personal Data that you provide to respond to your questions, provide you with the specific Content Offering and/or Services you select, send you updates about Content Offerings or other Coursera events, and send you email messages about Site maintenance or updates.

  • Account Registration. If you register for an account on our Site, you may be required to provide us with certain Personal Data such as your name and email address. You may also voluntarily provide us with additional Personal Data.

  • Updates. NCDA Online Courses may offer you the ability to receive updates either via email or by posting on portions of the Site only accessible to registered users. In order to subscribe to these Services, you may be required to provide us with Personal Data such as your name and email address.

  • Forums. NCDA Online Courses may offer public forums from time to time (the "Forums") where you can share comments and thoughts. In order to participate in the Forums, you may be required to register with us and/or provide us with Personal Data such as your name and email address. Please keep in mind that information you post or make available in Forums will be publicly available. You should not include any personal information or other information of a personal or sensitive nature, whether relating to you or another person, in a Forum post. 
  • Participation in Content Offerings. NCDA Online Courses offers users the opportunity to participate in Content Offerings on or through the Site. If you desire to participate in a Content Offering, you will be asked to provide us with certain information necessary to conduct such a Content Offering. This information may include, among other things, your name and email address.

If you participate in a Content Offering, we may collect certain user-generated content, such as assignments you submit, peer-graded assignments, and peer-grading feedback. We also collect course data, such as responses to in-video quizzes, standalone quizzes, exams, and surveys. You should not include any Personal Data or other information of a personal or sensitive nature, whether relating to you or another person, on assignments, exams, or surveys, except for information required to participate in or submit such assignments, exams, or surveys.

The NCDA Online Courses uses Google Analytics, Social Media Widgets, and Third Party charts, to render feeds, visualizations, and analyze the web traffic data for us. These services use cookies. Data generated is not shared with any other party. The following web traffic data are analyzed:

  1. User IP address
  2. The search terms used
  3. The pages and internal links accessed on our site
  4. The date and time a user visits the site
  5. Geo-location
  6. The referring site or platform, if any
  7. Operating system
  8. Web browser type

Information Collection, Use, And Sharing

The NCDA is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. The NCDA only has access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via the modules of this website or other direct contact from you. All of the provisions in the Data Privacy Act will be observed specifically on the management of personally identifiable information.

Information collected may be used as a basis for client response regarding services or interventions that the NCDA may provide. Information will not be shared with any third party outside of the Government, other than as necessary to fulfill the requested services of a client. The NCDA, however, reserves the right to request the applicants to submit the hard copy of documentary requirements in order to verify the authenticity of the information.

Unless otherwise provided, the NCDA or any of its authorized personnel may contact the client via email or SMS in the future for the purpose of status updates with regard to the transaction/service request, changes to this privacy policy, or other information reasonably necessary to effect the social service mandate of the NCDA.

Access And Correction

An individual has the right to ask for a copy of any personal information held by the NCDA about him or her; as well as the right to ask for corrections should any information be inaccurate or erroneous. To do so, please contact us through the following email address: council@ncda.gov.ph.

Security

The NCDA takes precautions to protect information. Upon submission of sensitive information via the website, information is protected both online and offline. Wherever the Department collects sensitive information (such as passport and Birth Certificates), that information is encrypted and transmitted to the NCDA in a secure manner. This may be verified by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, certificate printing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers, where personally identifiable information is stored, are kept in a secure environment.
